Dear Friends and Neighbors,

This project was lovingly created as a heartfelt gift from the West 8th Street neighborhood to the 53rd Annual Anderson Gaslight Festival. What began as a simple idea quickly evolved into something truly special —a walking tour that celebrates the charm, history, and stories of our beloved neighborhood.

It was only possible because of the incredible collaboration and spirit of our community. A group of neighbors came together, each offering their unique talents, and from that, something meaningful took shape.

We are especially grateful to our 8th Street neighbors for so generously sharing the history and character of their homes. Your stories brought this tour to life, making it personal, vibrant, and deeply rooted in the place we all love.

This project is just the beginning. As we continue to gather more details and stories, we hope to expand and enrich the tour over time. If you have historical facts, family memories, or interesting details about your home, we would love for you to share them with us. Every story adds another layer to our neighborhood’s legacy.

Our deepest thanks also go to the Madison County Historical Society for their support, encouragement, and invaluable resources. Your partnership made this project not just possible, but purposeful.

With gratitude and community pride,

The Gaslight Walking Tour Committee
